Medical Procurement of Ukraine adheres to the principle of zero tolerance for corruption and supports cooperation with authorized institutions.
Dmytro Bihunets, Deputy Director Manager of the MPU on the Anti-corruption and Compliance, participated in the second annual conference of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention "Corruption Whistleblowers in Ukraine: Successes and Challenges".
He took part in a panel discussion focused on whistleblower’s protection and talked about:
- formation of a sustainable culture of informing about the violation;
- implementation of modern IT tools for reporting;
- support and protection of whistleblowers.
"Corruption whistleblowers are persons who report corruption offenses. They can be under pressure, they can be threatened, so it is very important to ensure safety and protection for such people", explained Dmytro Bihunets.
He accented that Medical Procurement of Ukraine had implemented a compliance control system to protect whistleblowers. With its help, anyone can automatically report potential violation by persons involved in the activities of the MPU. It can be done anonymously or with personal data.
Dmytro also noted that the MPU team is constantly improving internal anti-corruption procedures: "Now we are in the process of implementing the international anti-corruption standard ISO 37001:2016. We also carry out thorough inspections of suppliers and candidates for positions, training for employees".
During the discussion speakers summarized the importance of whistleblowers for the anti-corruption culture of the state and noted the progress of Medical Procurement of Ukraine in this area.
