Today the SE “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” presented a Business Intelligence system (BI) on the basis of Tableau Software. It is available publicly at https://bi.medzakupivli.com/.

BI is a convenient visualization of data on purchases of the SE “MPU”. With its help, it is possible to analyze the medicines and medical items purchased and delivered by the SE "MPU" under the centralized programmes of the Ministry of Health in 2020 and 2021.
The BI contains the following information:
- the number of contracts, medicines and medical devices purchased by the SE "MPU" under the centralized programs of the Ministry of Health;
- status and dates of deliveries of purchased goods to Ukraine and to hospitals;
- stocks by areas and INNs in regions and hospitals;
- the stock of CoronaVac vaccine against COVID-19.
The publication of such data in one place is happening for the first time in Ukraine and is a breakthrough for public health procurement. Previously, this information was disclosed to a limited extent or provided in response to official requests. The information contained in the BI will be useful to patients and patient organizations, NGOs, analysts, executive authorities, health care institutions, and representatives of the pharmaceutical market.
"By working together, we seek to expand public access to information. Make data retrieval easier, simpler and faster. On behalf of the Ministry, we are working to integrate BI into our website for even more convenient access of users to the published data," said Maria Karchevych, Director General of the Directorate for the Development of Digital Transformations in Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
"The BI contains has data on all health care facilities to which the SE “MPU” supplies medicines and medical devices purchased under the centralized programs of the Ministry of Health. Data on deliveries are updated daily, on purchases - hourly. Balance information is updated twice a month after the relevant data is entered into the system by health care institutions. There are different levels of filters in the system, which help to search for both general information and in terms of the individual budget year, region, direction, medicine (INN)", - Alyona Zhuzha, Head of Production Analytics and IT of the SE “Medical Procurement Ukraine”.
"The BI system of the SE "MPU" provides unique information about the full cycle of medical goods - from the moment of ordering by the Ministry of Health to delivery to the hospital. BI is a living tool, the functionality of which depends not only on the SE "MPU" but also on the feedback of the users themselves,” said Anastas Boyko, e-Procurement Advisor of the TAPAS Project / Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services.
BI is currently running in test mode. The SE "MPU"`s team will add new data to the system depending on user requests. Therefore, we are kindly asking you to provide your feedback about the system. It will help us build a stronger BI system.
