Medical procurement of Ukraine signed the Memorandum of the UN Global Compact on joint anti-corruption actions

Medical procurement of Ukraine signed the Memorandum of the UN Global Compact on joint anti-corruption actions. Ukrainian companies, state bodies, non-governmental organizations, and associations joined the initiative.

The signing took place during the anti-corruption week on December 5-9.

Following the Memorandum, the parties undertake to conduct their activities transparently, observing the principle of competitiveness and relevant Ukrainian legislation. Also, signatories should actively promote the development of their industry, make efforts to popularize anti-corruption practices and refrain from cooperation with partners who do not adhere to these principles.

"Medical procurement of Ukraine always adheres to the principles of zero tolerance for corruption. We thoroughly check our counterparties and job candidates. Also, the institution's employees undergo annual integrity checks and regular specialized training," said Dmytro Bihunets, deputy general manager on anti-corruption and compliance.

He emphasized that Medical procurement of Ukraine recently received the international anti-bribery certificate ISO 37001:2016: "This is a globally recognized standard that determines the quality of anti-corruption policies in the institution. MPU - the first in the procurement sphere of Ukraine to pass certification according to ISO 37001:2016. In general, there are only 20 institutions worldwide, including the MPU, working in the healthcare field and having the ISO 37001:2016 anti-bribery certificate," Dmytro explained.

According to him, MPU cares about the reputation of a transparent and honest state institution: "During the entire time of our work, not a single corruption offense was recorded. After all, our system is configured in such a way as to minimize any corruption risks or conflict of interests", Dmytro Bihunets emphasized.

The Global Compact is an initiative of the United Nations aimed to promote the social responsibility of business and create a more stable and inclusive economy.
