In addition to centralized procurement, the focus of our previous and current years is procurement within the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky UNITED24, which was launched to support Ukraine during the war.
The funds collected on the eponymous platform are distributed in three areas: defense and mine clearance, humanitarian and medical assistance, as well as the reconstruction of Ukraine. Responsible for the effective use of funds for medical needs is the Ministry of Health, which delegated the MPU to carry out the relevant procurement.
Today, May 5, marks the year since the beginning of the work of this platform, which during this time has become the main window for collecting charitable donations in support of our country, uniting the whole world.
Even though the war unleashed by Russia had a negative impact on the procurement process, the MPU team managed to ensure the procurement and delivery of critical equipment to hospitals from different parts of Ukraine in the shortest possible time.
In particular, 35 artificial lung ventilation devices became the first goods that we purchased for funds through UNITED24.
In total, during the existence of the platform as of May 5, 2023, about 1.4 billion hryvnias for the needs of healthcare institutions in Ukraine were attracted. For these funds, we purchased 108,677 units of equipment, in particular:
- 176 ambulances;
- 13 armored medical evacuation vehicles;
- 35 transport ventilators;
- 28 pediatric ventilators;
- 81 operating tables;
- 7954 external fixation devices;
- 172 devices for vacuum therapy of wounds;
- 22 C-arm X-ray machines;
- 83 anesthesia breathing apparatuses;
- 34 simulators for rehabilitation;
- 14 ultrasound diagnostic devices;
- 4 operating microscopes for neurosurgery;
- 442 functional medical beds;
- 98982 chemical warmers;
- 637 generators and other autonomous pow
- er supplies.
Most of the equipment has already been delivered to medical institutions. Procurement continues so that doctors can timely receive the necessary things to save lives.
