The Medical Procurement of Ukraine plans to implement a module for integrating one of the world's leading procurement systems SAP Ariba with the Ukrainian electronic system Prozorro to remove barriers between the Ukrainian and global markets and improve the procurement process.
Representatives of the MPU shared such plans and their success story of SAP Ariba implementation during SAP ReferencesLIVE within the framework of the SAP partnership program.
"Such integration will allow structuring all agreements and other related documents in one window and, accordingly, will save a lot of time and simplify the overall procurement process. In addition, we have ambitious plans to build an ERP system in our agency, namely the implementation of financial, logistics, HR modules, and additional services, which will not only improve the work of the MPU as an enterprise but also positively affect the processes of healthcare in Ukraine”, said Acting General Director of the MPU Edem Adamanov.
In addition, Edem Adamanov told the participants of the event about the advantages of using SAP during the procurement of medicines and equipment, as well as the challenges faced by the MPU during the implementation of this system in March 2022.
"Thanks to the SAP tool, we can make more efficient and operational procurement and reach a wider range of suppliers. The most important thing for us is to procure transparently, quickly, and reliably. All this would also be impossible without the introduction of an effective anti-corruption policy,” concluded the Head of the MPU.
In turn, Ihor Lysenko, Head of the IT Development Department of the Medical Procurement of Ukraine, told the audience how cooperation with SAP began, what stages the procurement process through this tool includes, and how SAP solutions helped to create a centralized MPU platform for fast and effective provision of urgently needed medical procurement and supplies.
In particular, among the first successfully implemented cases of the MPU team through SAP is the procurement of high-quality 400 VAC devices and 10,000 sets of consumables for assistance to seriously injured people worth more than $1 million. The order was funded by the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK with the assistance of NGO Enkidu.
"Thanks to SAP Ariba, we were able to find a supplier in just a few days at a price three times lower than the market price in Ukraine. In general, thanks to SAP Ariba solutions, the MPU can quickly compare suppliers' offers, manage the procurement process, and attract new suppliers through preliminary assessment of their qualifications, thus ensuring maximum transparency in the entire supply chain,” said Ihor Lysenko.
He added that the MPU will continue using the SAP platform for market consultations, negotiations with suppliers, procurement, and conclusion of contracts.

Enkidu is a Swiss non-profit organization founded by immigrants from Ukraine www.enkiduglobal.org. In March 2022, Enkidu appealed to the MPU with a proposal to provide IT support in the form of access to SAP Ariba.
