State Enterprise "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" saved 1 bln UAH on the state procurement of medicines and medical devices for the 2020 public funds. This is the result of 158 among 430 auctions that were held in the Prozorro system.
This year procurement of medicines and medical devices for the state programmes of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine took place in the Prozorro system for the first time.
Estimated sum of these tenders were 2,9 bln UAH, whereas the overall sum of the winners of the auctions was 1,8 bln UAH.
In 2020 Ministry of Health of Ukraine authorized the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" to provide centralized procurement for 14 state programmes, among which there are adults and children's cancer, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, ARV, screening of newborns. The procedures are taking place for the first time in the Prozorro system, according to the Law of Ukraine "On Public Procurement".
"1 bln of UAH that we managed to save is, primary, the money of the Ukrainian taxpayers. It is the competitive market struggle during the auctions that makes possible to receive significant savings. Our auctions showed that there is the great interest from the side of the participants, including international and Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies and suppliers. This became possible due to the professional work of our team and high-quality preparation for tenders," said Arsen Zhumadilov, Director-General of the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine".
SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" had already announced 100% tender procedures for the state programmes for procuring medicines and medical devices for 2020. Overall budget for these programmes is 6,1 bln UAH.
"The Prozorro system is just a tool. However, in skilled hands it allows the state to save money and provide citizens with more medicines. Due to the fact that all data in the Prozorro is transparent, every person can easily see the tender documentation, like prices, participants, contracts etc. So everyone can assess the effectiveness of the work of the State Enterprise "Medical Procurement of Ukraine," - stated Director-General of the Prozorro Vasyl Zadvornyy.
