Producer of the vaccine - the company Sinovac Biotech. An agreement is concluded with the official distributor of the producer in Ukraine, which has the exclusive representative agreement.
We plan to procure 1 913 316 vials of the vaccine CoronaVac. According to the provisions of the agreement, the first consignments of the vaccine of 700 thousand vials are planned to be delivered till the end of the I quarter of the 2021. The vaccine can be stored in the standart refregirator under the standart conditions of 2-8 Celsius degrees.
It should be mentioned that the team of the SE “Medical Procurement of Ukraine" faced unprecedented difficulties while performing this deal. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine authorized us for the procurement of the vaccine against COVID-19 only on December 10, 2020. We received the respective budget allocations only on December 22, 2020. The technical conditions for the vaccines we received only on December 24, 2020. The agreement with the supplier was concluded based on the provision of the bank guarantees.
The vaccine of the company Sinovac Biotech is currently undergoing the Phase III of the clinical trials. They are taking place in Brasil, Indonesia and Turkey. There are more that 10 companies in the world that are currently undergoing the Phase III of the trials of their vaccines-candidates. Only after the successful finish of the Phase III of the trials the vaccine can be registered in Ukraine.
SE “Medical Procurement of Ukraine" contacted all producers that are at the Phase III of the vaccine trials. The contracted vaccine corresponds to the technical characteristics established by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
For the emergency use the CoronaVac vaccine had already received an emergency approval for limited use in China.
During the next year we will continue to work on contracting vaccines further and will work on the delivery of the already contracted volumes.
