Before the beginning of the immunisation campaign against COVID-19 in Ukraine, the need to systematize the data on the delivery, storage, movement and use of vaccines became especially acute. This information affects the effectiveness of decision-making, control over the vaccination campaign itself and the transparency of this process.
In a short period of time specialists of the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" developed a special module on the basis of our informational and analytical system MedData. This module in a real time helps to collect information on the vaccination campaign in Ukraine. The system collects data as per four levels.
- The first level is national one and includes information on the total number of doses of the vaccine that arrived to Ukraine. At this level, data are collected from four warehouses: SE "Ukrvaktsina" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, SE "UkrMedPostach" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, LLC "Pharmasoft" and BC "Pharmatsia". These are the state and private enterprises that are involved in the storage and transportation of various types of vaccines in Ukraine.
- At the second level the information is received about the number of doses and their delivery to the regions. Representatives of the aforementioned warehouses enter information about the number of vaccines that were delivered to each region.
- The third level is the regional one.
- The fourth level refers to each vaccination point, where information is provided on each shot of the vaccine.
This way it s possible to track how many doses of the vaccine had been delivered to each region and to the hospital as well as how many short had been made, whether there were vials that were broken or spoiled, it also shows the availability of storages in the warehouses and leftovers of the vaccine in each hospital and by the region. The data is updated daily.
The team of the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" developed an API-interface which gives an opportunity to the National Council for Security and Defence of Ukraine to receive information directly from our database. The Council further visualises the data on their dashboards and use them to analyze the vaccination campaign and to plan activities, accordingly. Also, our module in MedData provides data for the dashboards of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The system MedData and all its modules are an in-house of the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine". Our developers and analytics work on the support and development of these services. Our developers work on the the functionality of the system and monitor its operations. Analytics provide technical support to the representatives of the national and regional structures, as well as health care facilities, that work with the system.
