All procured quantity was delivered: Sunitinib in 12,5 mg, procured for 5277 courses, meaning 1 182 048 capsules (one course - 12 weeks, meaning 224 capsules). Production of the medicine lasted for almost half a year.
Sunitinib already undergone the customs clearance and was despatched in the warehouse of our logistics partner in Kyiv region. After performing the respective internal control and receiving the appropriate distribution orders, Sunitinib will be delivered to the regions. This is expected to happen within a month.
"Without exaggeration, not all medicines we expected as much as Sunitinib. Firstly, it is because for the first time ever Sunitinib was procured with the public funds. Secondly, the purchased quantity will provide 100% patients in Ukraine with kidney cancer at all stages with vital treatment. According to the contract, two batches were planned to be delivered later this year by July 30 and August 30. We are grateful to the manufacturer of Sutent - Pfizer - who made every effort to ensure that the long-awaited medicine arrived today, a few months ahead of schedule," said Arsen Zhumadilov, General Manager of the SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine".
This procedure was especially important for us. Specifically, because of the following:

this was the most expensive procedure among all our tenders under the programs of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. However, as a result of the auction, we managed to save UAH 135 million, or 43% of taxpayers' money;

for the first time in 2020, Sunitinib was procured centrally from the state budget. Previously, patients with kidney cancer had to buy Sutent on their own - for the majority of patients its cost was a significant financial burden - several thousand dollars per course. In addition, such medicines are difficult to find in Ukrainian pharmacies.
On April 30, 2021, SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" has already announced the procedure for procurement of Sunitinib 12.5 mg or Pazopanib 400 mg for 2021 in Prozorro.
