Тhe Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved amendments to Resolution No. 1178, which obligates public customers to purchase certain medicines and medical products through the electronic catalog Prozorro Market.

This tool operates as a marketplace and is free of charge for customers. With its help, hospitals can quickly and conveniently purchase goods using the Request for Quotation tool. On average, this procedure lasts 9 days. The medical part of the catalog is administered by the specialists of the Medical Procurement of Ukraine.
"Increasing the accessibility of medicines and medical products for patients is one of our priority tasks. The resolution adopted today will help us achieve this goal. It will also allow us to reduce procurement costs. The decision was made as part of the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Program, which means that we are taking a step towards transparency in the procurement sector. Additionally, we now have the ability to technically fix the marginal cost for certain products, which prevents the purchase of medicines at prices higher than the established wholesale prices," said Viktor Liashko, the Minister of Health of Ukraine. "Thus, we will be able to implement the mechanism of mandatory procurement of medicines using the electronic catalog for the specified list of products. This will make the procurement process more efficient and convenient, taking into account the high level of competition and speed of procurement implementation."
