The MPU confirmed compliance with the requirements of the international anti-corruption standard ISO 37001

The Medical Procurement of Ukraine has successfully undergone a supervisory audit, confirming compliance with the requirements of the international standard for anti-corruption management system ISO 37001.

This is a globally recognized standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which approves the quality of anti-corruption policies and practices implemented within an institution.

The MPU received certification in November 2022, becoming the first in the procurement sphere in Ukraine. Subsequently, the certificate needs to be confirmed through annual audits.

"The MPU continues to implement all necessary measures for preventing and combating corruption at all levels, incorporating the best international practices in this field. As a result, in 5 years of operation, no corruption cases have been recorded.  Additionally, this year, we received favorable assessments from auditors and confirmed our anti-corruption certification. Therefore, we can confidently state that our anti-corruption system has effective safeguards at all levels. This sends a signal to everyone that the MPU is a reliable partner with well-established transparent mechanisms for combating corruption, which is particularly relevant today as societal demand for eradicating this phenomenon continues to grow," noted Stanislav Ivakhnenko, Head of Compliance Unit at the Medical Procurement of Ukraine.

The supervisory audit was conducted by the company PECB Ukraine, the official representative of the certification body MSECB Management Systems Inc. in Ukraine.

The verification process focused on the anti-corruption system implemented at the MPU. This included the analysis of documents and interviews with employees. Subsequently, the audit results were sent to the central office of the certification body in Canada, which decided to extend the ISO 37001 certificate for the MPU.

The annual supervisory audit was conducted with the support of the USAID SafeMed project, "Safe, Affordable, and Effective Medicines for Ukrainians".
