This year, the Medical Procurement of Ukraine will procure medical supplies in 24 areas of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as outlined by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Order No. 137, issued on January 26, 2024, stipulated the relevant changes.
In particular, as in the previous year, the MPU will procure medicines and medical devices for the treatment of the following diseases:
- Oncological diseases
- Hemophilia types A or B
- Cystic fibrosis
- Epidermolysis bullosa
- Viral hepatitis B and C
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Pediatric mental disorders and cerebral palsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Primary (congenital) immunodeficiencies
- Dwarfism
- Vaccines for immunoprophylaxis
- Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
- Infectious diseases with a high level of lethality
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension, etc.
As for innovations, the MPU has expanded its procurement to include medicines for the treatment of Kawasaki disease and medical devices for hearing prosthetics.
Additionally, the MPU will procure goods as part of the implementation of a project to construct cyclotrons for the enrichment of radiopharmaceuticals, essential for high-quality diagnostics of oncological diseases.
"This year, our focus extends beyond conducting operational procurements. The key goal of the MPU is the continuous provision of healthcare facilities with essential medical supplies. To achieve this, we maintain a stockpile of the most commonly used medicines and utilize multiple warehouses for swift distribution. Additionally, ambitious projects are planned for this year, including the construction of cyclotrons for the enrichment of radiopharmaceuticals. This is crucial for the effective diagnosis and successful treatment of oncological diseases," says Edem Adamanov, General Manager of the MPU.
For reference: for the purchase of medical supplies in 2024, over 12 billion UAH has been allocated to the MPU from the state budget.
