The Ministry of Health of Ukraine together with the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” (SE “MPU”) met the representatives of the company Elekta Limited. Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Bogdan Borukhovskyy, General Manager of the SE "MPU" Arsen Zhumadilov, as well as the representatives of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine participated in the meeting.
Elekta Limited - is a Swedish company that provides radiation therapy, radiosurgery, related equipment and clinical management for the treatment of cancer and brain disorders. The meeting took place within the consultations of the SE “MPU” with world’s key producers of linear accelerators. The week before such meeting took place with the representatives of another producer - Varian Medical Systems.
The project that is being implemented by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, jointly with the SE “MPU”, and with the involvement of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, is the first such initiative in the healthcare field in Ukraine. It aims at renovating the health care facilities through their technical re-equipment, at the expense of funds allocated from the state budget and loan/s from foreign countries, foreign financial institutions and international financial organizations, through implementation of the investment projects. Among other equipment it is planned to purchase medical linear accelerators.
The project is currently in the planning stage. We continue consultations with the potential participants.
